Victoria Tedford

October 21, 1955 — October 29, 2020

Coupland, Texas

Victoria ‘Vickey’ M. Tedford of Coupland passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the age of 65.

Victoria was born in Austin, TX on October 21, 1955.  Every summer as a child she could work in the fields with her parents.  Victoria eventually dropped out of school in the 9th grade, but despite lack of education, she was successful in the semiconductor business, serving with Motorola for over 20 years until her retirement.  Victoria instilled the importance of education into her children to ensure they would not have the same struggles she did.  At the age of 47, she went back to school and received her GED.  Her father Leonardo was in attendance at her special day.  On April 29, 2006 Victoria married her loving husband Robert and her father was able to walk her down the aisle.

Victoria was a loving grandmother; her grandkids were her everything and she would do or get them whatever they wanted.  You would always see her with a smile whenever she was talking about one of them.  She had the biggest heart that you would ever meet.  She loved to help anyone in need weather that meant opening her home, giving advice or financial assistance.  She loved to offer her helpful advice to anyone in need of support -her favorite suggestion was to read Psalm 23.  Victoria loved to shop especially when she found sales and clearance.  Anyone who ate with Victoria knew her favorite meal was breakfast.  Victoria had a special place in her heart for all her brothers and sisters.  She loved them along with all her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was also a talker.  If she had your phone number, you could expect a random call or text checking on you.

Victoria is survived by her husband, Robert Tedford of Coupland; daughters, Christina and her husband Steven Liles of Arlington, Lisa Martinez of Coupland, and Nina and her husband Michael Castillo, Sr. of Elgin; 10 grandchildren, Jasmine Castillo, Dylan Liles, Israel Martinez, Michael Castillo Jr, Madalyn Liles, Joseph Castillo, James Martinez, Jessikah Martinez, Joel Martinez and Abel Castillo; sibling, Francisco C Valdez of Austin, Janie Morales of Austin, Terrie Ramirez and husband Daniel of Lockhart, Leonardo Castro Jr. and wife Patricia of Del Valle, and David Castro of Austin; and many nieces and nephews.  Victoria is preceded in death by her parents Leonardo Sr. and Guadalupe Castro.

The family will receive guests at Elgin Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 3rd from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 4th at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
