Samuel Woods

Samuel Ray Woods was born Saturday, July 6, 1957.  Samuel often call Sam or Sammy grew up in the outskirts of Elgin Texas where he resided most of his life enjoying the outdoors.

As Sam entered adult hood, he discovered his love of the open road and began a career as a truck driver and even owned his own rig making himself an Owner Operator.  No one could deny his natural gift of running his big rigs better than most could drive a car. As a long-haul truck driver, Sam has seen more of the country with his own eyes through his windshield than other have seen in books.

Anyone who knew Sam could tell you that there was not much he couldn’t fix in the mechanical world.  Some even say that he could just drive a rig and tell you what was wrong with it and how to fix it.  Mechanics was just another gift that came naturally to Sam.  He didn’t have the opportunity to go to school for mechanics, but most of his friends and family would tell you he was better than most shops and regularly preformed his own work.

The Sam that people knew was an avid dog lover.  Sam could never have too many dogs and often demonstrated this by randomly showing up with a new dog that he just couldn’t leave.  There was no such thing as a stray dog to Sam as he would give it a home.

Sam’s untimely passing on September 23, 2021 left several family members behind.  Sam is survived by his son, Samuel (Little Sam) Woods and his sons Samuel (JR) Woods and Dallas Woods, his eldest daughter, Carol Woods and her two daughters Tiffany Villalobos and Alexis Villalobos, his youngest daughter Kimberly Woods and her two sons, Tony Jackson Jr, Iryan Jackson, and her daughter Leighliana Jackson.
