Salos Gusman

Now his work is ended,  And he is laid to rest,

I seem to hear him whisper,  O’ Lord I’ve done my best!

Well done my faithful servant I know you’ve struggled hard

That’s why I thought to call you, From labor to rest…

Pastor Salome Gusman, a fisherman of men, and a faithful servant of the Gospel was born to Marcos and Maria Gusman on October 21, 1927in McDade, Texas.

Salome was a pastor for many years and earned his crown of glory with his love for the Lord. He planted numerous churches in the surrounding area and enjoyed ministering to his family including grandchildren and touched many lives during his ministry. His faithfulness to duty in kingdom work is to be remembered and commended.

Into the Silent Church they trod,

Bearing the body of a man of God,

Tears streaming down many a valiant face,

They had known and love this man of grace

Their troubles and sorrows into his ears had poured,

The old, young, sick, healthy, poor, rich, dark, white and everyone

His mission finished, his reward ahead

In one quiet moment for the last time he bowed his head.

It has pleased our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at the age of ninety- two, Pastor Gusman translated from the labor of this life to the rest.

Pastor Gusman leaves in God’s hands to cherish his legacy, his  loving partner in life and ministry of 70+ years, Maria Martinez Gusman, his sons, Joe Gusman and his wife, Lucy of Round Rock, Pastor Salome Gusman, Jr. and his wife, Mary Helen of Austin, Pastor Adam Gusman, and his wife, Lisa of Taylor, and Bobby Gusman of Taylor, his  daughters, Eva Amador of Brownwood, Mary Ann and her husband, Lupe Perez of Taylor, Alice and her husband, John Sanchez of Taylor, Helen and her husband, Augustine Vela of Taylor, Diane and her husband, Ociel Carrillo of College Station, Martha and her husband, Roger Way of Austin and Tessie and her husband, Andy Leyendecker of Taylor, two nieces, Rosaria Arocha and Isabel Garcon,  numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and five generations of other relatives and friends, including the congregation at the Primera Iglesias Bautista Church of Taylor.
