Manor, Texas

Pearl Mack Luckey Shuler, 97, of Manor, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, June 27, 2020.  The family will receive guests at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Elgin, on Tuesday, July 7th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  A Home-Going Celebration will follow at the Manor Cemetery.

The epitome of elegance and steadfast faith, Mrs. Pearl Mack Luckey Shuler entered into Eternal rest on June 27, 2020.

A blessed event took place on September 16, 1922 in Waelder, Texas, when Pearl Mack Luckey was born the tenth of twelve children to Henry and Carrie (Burgess) Luckey.

Pearl Mack professed hope in Christ at an early age in Granger Texas where she united with Saint Love All Baptist Church. After moving from Waelder, she later married Joe A. Shuler and they moved to Lubbock Texas in 1954. While in Lubbock, she was employed by the Lubbock Housing Authority as a recreational aid and retired from that position at the age of sixty-three. Years later, she moved to Austin Texas where she resided with her daughters, attending and supporting the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pearl Mack Shuler became an active member of the New Birth Bible Fellowship Church in Taylor Texas under the pastoral leadership of her son, the Reverend Dr. Joe A Shuler, Jr.  Her extreme hospitality and friendship was felt among the members of the church and the community. She counted it a joy to come full circle in her faith with her son. Sister Shuler was a loving, and spiritual woman, one that feared the Lord but loved him dearly.

Awaiting her arrival in Glory are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Luckey; eight brothers: L.E., Lovie, Dee, Alvin, Henry, Raymond, Amos, and Isaiah; three sisters Irene Baker, Orel James, Jewel Spencer along with her two sons, Freddie and Charlie.

Mrs. Pearl Mack Shuler beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: three daughters, JoAnn Spencer of Austin Texas, Carolyn and Gloria Shuler of Manor Texas and her three sons: the Reverend Charles Hankson of Lubbock, Texas, Samuel Shuler of Ft Worth Texas and the Reverend Dr. Joe A. Shuler and his wife, Diane of Manor Texas; twenty two grandchildren, twenty six great grand children, a host of great- great- great- grand children, nieces, nephews and other relatives covering five generations; and the New Birth Church family.
