Nellie Lawhon

Nellie Lawhon, 95, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021.  A visitation will be held at Elgin Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 6th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Thursday, January 7th at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brandon Cano presiding.  Interment will follow at Youngs Prairie Cemetery.

Nellie Francis Frye Lawhon,  passed away Friday, January 1, 2021.  She was born in Plymouth, Nebraska on November 30, 1925. Her family moved to Oklahoma and then to Texas in the ‘30’s. In 1941, she married John Edward Lawhon; together, they had three children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Lawhon; her sons, John W. Lawhon and Sammy S. Lawhon; and her dear friend and partner, Ed Pfullman.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Lawhon and his wife Patricia Lawhon; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and dear friends.

Nellie spent ten years with her loving companion Ed and had enjoyed spending time with her three favorite nieces, Phyllis Cockran, Bonnie McCurry, and Sandi Moyer.  Nellie had a special place in her heart for the Frye family.  Her special care was appreciated so much from her daughter- in-laws, Patricia and Sandra Lawhon.

Serving with Honor and Grace, Pallbearers are Lee Lawhon, Mark Lawhon, Isaac Lawhon, Ryker Lawhon, Johnny Lawhon, Matthew Lawhon, and John Clint Lawhon.
