Time is too slow for those who wait,

Too swift for those who fear,

Too long for those who grieve,

Too short for those who rejoice,

But for those who love, time is Eternity.

Michael Wayne Hoodye entered this earthly life to Alvin Hoodye and Alice Leonard Hoodye on October 11, 1960 in Houston, Texas and departed his earthly life on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the age of sixty.  Michael attended the county schools and shared his relationship with Christ as a member of Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Bastrop. Michael was an active member of the choir and loved to lift his voice in Praise.

During his lifetime, Michael did many things. He was employed by several companies but the two to be mention are the ones that brought him the greatest joy.  For several years, he worked at the Bastrop Nursing Home as a CNA and then went on to the Bastrop Independent School District.  Michael spent his leisure time singing and dancing but loved to be around family and friends which brought him great joy.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Alvin Hoodye and Alice Leonard Hoodye, grandmother, Edna Leonard, aunt, Mae Pearl Leonard and uncle, Otis Leonard Sr.

Michael’s priceless legacy will be celebrated by his wife, Christine Colter, stepchildren, Annicea Conley (Ron) and Tony DeShay and grandchildren, De’Necia, Alyssa and Alijah; his siblings, Larry Hoodye, Donnie Hoodye (Mary Sue), Wanda Hoodye and Otis Keith Hoodye; one uncle, C.
