Leonora Clarke

Leonora Evalyn Anne Banks Clarke, of Austin, transitioned from this life to eternity Monday, July 10, 2023.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 21, 1943 to parents, Milton Bruce and Leonora Drexel Banks.

Leonora attended college and soon became a dedicated employee of Marsh McClennan, where she progressed from being a clerk to Vice President of the company.

Leonora lived her life to the fullest by loving her family, loving her friends that were considered family, traveling with sister-friends, watching game shows and receiving snuggles and kisses from her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by and reunited with her parents, Bruce and Leonora Drexel Banks, and brother, David Banks.

She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Keith Burgess (Tonya) of Austin, TX; daughter, Keira Burgess of Austin, TX; brother, Mikel Banks (Desiree) of New York, NY; sister-in-law, Marlyn Banks of Baltimore, MD; nephew, Darrin Banks of Long Island, NY; niece, Aliya Banks of Baltimore, MD; grandson, Xavier Brown (Clauresha), great-grandchildren, XJ and Olivia of Austin, TX; goddaughter, Monique Georges of Bermuda; special friends, Ann Alford of Charlotte, N.C, Margaret Feemster and Margaret Gorden of Dallas, TX; Wendy Peterson of Atlanta, GA; Carmen Bean and Paula Georges of Bermuda, one great-niece, two great-nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Leonora’s Life will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 18th at 12:00 P.M.
