Ms. Ella Marie Haywood was born on October 16, 1954, in Taylor, Texas to the late Howard and Ethel Haywood.  She departed this priceless life on December 29, 2021, at the age of sixty-seven.

Ella attended the public schools in Bastrop ISD, finishing in the Austin area. She pursued an interest in the medical field beginning her life’s work in Healthcare. She worked in this capacity for a number of years before retiring at the age of 52. Ella was a people person, she loved her children and the grands, all her family, she was the one that would light up a room just by smiling.  She enjoyed fishing and listening to the blues.  Ella was always on the dance floor, enjoying dancing with her children. She referred to it as family time.

To have known Ella, you would have known her to be a servant to many. Her caring, loving, and compassionate spirit was evident in her concern for others.  Just as she lived her life to the fullest, she was always calm in the midst of a storm.  Ella will be greeted in heaven by her parents, and her sister, Emma.

Ella leaves to treasure her memory are sons: John Dee Haywood and his wife, Coretta, Kenneth Owens, Sr. and his wife, Rita, Tyrone Haywood, Sr. and his wife, Jamie, and her only daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Aaron Washington; grandchildren: John Vincent, Jr., Sha’Corah Haywood, Adrian Washington, Tyrone, Jr., Brittany Haywood-Lemons, TaNesha Haywood, Sierra Haywood, Aaron Washington, Jr., Breanna Washington, Alexis Washington, Keshia Neal, Kevin Owens, Kallie Owens, Kenneth Owens, Jr. and Charles Owens; one great-grand child, Jaxon Washington; brothers: Howard Haywood, Jr., Willey Haywood and his wife, Sandra, Michael Haywood, Sr. and his wife, Marie, and Robert Haywood, Sr; sisters: Gloria Haywood, Pauline Haywood Carter, Celia and her husband, Carl Satterwhite, and Janice Haywood Carter; her best friend, Brenda Hill; and nieces, nephews and cousins covering four generations,  and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ella will truly be missed by everyone who she graced with her presence.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Saturday, January 8th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.  A Private Service will be conducted graveside with the Reverend, James Haywood presiding.
