Dorothy Rountree

Dorothy Anne Rountree passed away peacefully to our Lord, surrounded by those who loved her, Thursday, December 31, 2020.  Dorothy was born in Austin, Texas on April 5, 1933. She graduated from Austin High and later attended the University of Texas at Austin. On October 29, 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, William (Bill) Rountree. In 1975, Bill and Dorothy opened a retail clothing store, Career Girl, in Midland, Texas. They retired to farm life near Elgin, Texas in 1995, and were married for 62 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Vosburg and her beloved Bill Rountree.

She is survived by her two sons, William C. Rountree, Jr. and his wife, Marsha, Charles B. Rountree and his wife, Susan; a sister, Georgeanne Judd; her 11 grandchildren, Chris Rountree, Michelle Rugeley, Seth B Rountree, Charles W Rountree, Jacob Rountree, Jessica Nunley, Brooke Rountree,  Adam Goldberg, Loren Goldberg, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Goldberg; her twenty-two great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and dear friends.  She is loved deeply and will be greatly missed.

Family Visitation will be held at Elgin Funeral Home, Monday, January 4th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be conducted at New Sweden Lutheran Church, Tuesday, January 5th at 2:00 PM with the Reverend, Hans Lillejord presiding.  Interment will follow at New Sweden Church Cemetery.
