Darrin Mwandishi Douglas

January 25, 1970 — June 2, 2023

San Francisco, California

Darrin Samuel Douglas was born January 25th, 1970, to Samual Douglas and Denise Douglas. He was known for being the cutest chunky baby ever seen. Darrin lived an extraordinary young life in San Francisco, California with his older brother, Derrick Rennell Douglas and younger sister, Samera Shante Shipe. His smile would brighten up all around him. As he matured, Darrin looked up to his older brother Derrick and adored his younger sister whom he affectionately referred to as "boo".

While receiving his primary education from Grattan, St. Agenes and Thornhill Elementary School, Darrin spent much time surrounded by several family members. Proceeding elementary his family relocated across the Bay Area to Oakland. There he attended Montera and Skyline High School. Before advancing to post-grad, Darrin attended College for the Arts, where he found one of his passion for using his hands to create and fix things.

Darrin briefly attended Laney College and upon graduation he decided to transfer to Job Corpse in Texas where his maternal great-uncle worked. There he studied agriculture as he settled into his new life. While in Texas, he met and fell in love with his future wife Brenda Acevealo Douglas. From that union, twins girls, Aliyah and Aalissa Mwandishi, were born. After parting ways with Brenda he was blessed with a third daughter, Ebony Kegler, and a granddaughter Nyzuri Douglas.

Seeking a better opportunity to care for his family Darrin returned to California. Being a protective big brother he initially resided with his younger sister to watch over her and his niece Samaya. They all treasured their time together. However, he decided to relocate closer to his place of employment in San Francisco.

In his final days, Darrin was happy to be surrounded by his family in his native city as he was in his youth. He enjoyed spending time with everyone and always found purpose in helping others.

Darrin loved not only his family but humanity. His pure heart and sensitive nature made him the type of man to give his jacket to a stranger in a rainstorm. He was a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend to many-But, most of all human.

Darrin joins his father Samuel, brother Derrick, step father Craig Woods, maternal grandparents Booker T and ldaree Westbrook, and other loved ones in heaven.
