Carmen Quiroz

February 28, 1941 — May 8, 2020

Hornsby Bend, Texas

Carmen R. Quiroz, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, was taken home by her Lord peacefully on the morning of Friday, May 8th, 2020.  Carmen was one of eleven children born to Dolores “Lolo” Ramirez and Antonia Gonzalez in Lockhart, Texas on February 28th, 1941.  She was preceded in death by sons Edward Quiroz and Vincent Quiroz, along with her parents and numerous siblings.

Carmen grew up in Austin, Texas and married the love of her life, David C. Quiroz Sr. on March 14th, 1956, together having six beautiful children.  Migrating to Wisconsin in the 70’s, she settled and lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for many years, eventually returning to live the rest of her life in Austin.

Carmen came from humble beginnings and that humbleness followed her throughout her life.  She never expected much and always gave everything.  Her treasure was in her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carmen came to know the Lord and accepted Jesus as her Savior, being a member of The LORD’s Vineyard Christian Church.  A woman of faith, you would always find her sitting at her dining room table, glasses on, reading her Bible and favorite Scriptures and writing on her notepads.  She is most remembered for her hugs and smiles, those special smiles that would make any person happy to receive.  She was a woman who knew no strangers and was always loved by everyone she met.  Her gentleness of spirit drew you in like a magnet.
She is survived by her husband, David Quiroz Sr. of Austin, TX.; son, David Quiroz Jr.; daughter, Linda Q. and husband Arcadio Hidrogo Sr. of Lake Villa, IL.; daughter, Connie Q. and husband Ruben Villanueva of Del Valle, TX.; daughter, Sophie Q. and husband Daniel Guerrero Sr. of Austin, TX.; beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, precious sisters, nieces and nephews.

Her family remembers her as a wonderful wife, mom and grandmother with extraordinary faith and patience.  She is in Heaven now, whole and complete, rejoicing with our Lord.  Mom you will be terribly missed every single day, but the strength and love that you gave us will carry us through until we see your sweet face again.  Happy Heavenly Mother’s Day!  We love you, forevermore, you will always be carried in our hearts and your legacy will always live on. All Praise & Glory to God!

Her casket will lie in state at the First Christian Church of Elgin, Monday, May 11th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Service will be conducted graveside at Hornsby Bend Cemetery, Tuesday, May 12th at 10:00 AM.
