Barbara Fredrickson

September 17, 1932 — May 17, 2022

Elgin, Texas

Barbara Jean Kylberg Fredrickson, 89, of Elgin, was called Home, to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was born in Elgin, Texas, to Ernest Oscar Kylberg and Ida Mae Klaus Kylberg.

Barbara's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family and friends. Her unwavering faith in God influenced her commitments to work and contributions to the community. Barbara worked as church secretary at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Elgin for over 20 years. During those years she served as church council Treasurer, and President of the women's council, among other positions. Some of the activities she enjoyed were her participation in the women's quilting group, and the Rachel Circle. Barbara loved to bake and collect new recipes to cook for family and friends. She prepared many baked goods for the church's bake sales and helped with the compilation of the church cookbooks. She also enjoyed the Annual Elgin Christmas Parade, St. Peter's Lutheran Church's Live Nativity scene, helping with the Annual Swedish Association dinner and program, and being a member of the local Swedish Interest group, culminating in a wonderful trip to Sweden where she visited with her swedish relatives and experienced the culture. Barbara touched the lives of many people throughout the years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Larry Charles Robertson, her parents, and her sister, Carolyn Louise Kylberg Storm. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 40 years, Stephen Fredrickson, her daughters, Laurie Robertson Greinert, (and spouse, Keith), Lesley Robertson Arnold, (and spouse, Sammy), her brother, Lanny Maurice Kylberg, (and spouse, Lee), her step children Dolores Fredrickson Lundgren, Garry Fredrickson, and Sharon Fredrickson Blanchette, (and spouse, John), seven grandchildren Nicholas Greinert, Dennis Lundgren, Jennifer Lundgren Moore, Danny Lundgren, Brandon Fredrickson, Kristl Fredrickson McDowell, and Stephen Shawn Fredrickson. She also left to cherish her memory seven great grandchildren, niece, Julia Hanna Evans, and nephew, Quenton Hanna, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Texas Home Health (Accent Care), where Barbara was under their hospice care, and received the most incredible, caring nurse, Chanda Luna, as well as the kind support of aides and other staff members.  Memorial Contributions be made in Barbara’s Memory to the St. Peters Lutheran Church of Elgin, which was a huge part of her life.

A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be conducted at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church of Elgin, Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Sam Brannon presiding.  Family and Friends will gather for repast, in the church fellowship hall, following the memorial service.
