With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Yolanda Nevarez Molina, who left this world to join our Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Pflugerville, Texas. Born in Spur, Texas, Yolanda made her way to Austin, where she sought new opportunities and lovingly built her family. Known for her boundless love and ever-present smile, she greeted all with warmth and kindness, often accompanied by her culinary delights—cooking was a true passion that she shared generously with those around her. In her cherished moments of leisure, Yolanda found joy in visiting with her family, playing bingo, and trying her luck at the casinos.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bentura Nevarez and Elizabeth Nevarez, her ex-husband Rogelio “Chato” Molina, her daughter Betsy Molina, and two of her sisters, Belia Zamora and Linda Conover. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Rick (Brenda) Molina, Emma Vera Martinez, Stephanie (Chad) Almaguer, Gabriel Molina, and Leandro Molina. Yolanda also embraced the roles of a grandmother and great-grandmother with pride, having 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward. Additionally, she is survived by her devoted siblings; eleven in total, including sisters Ester Ortega (Zeferino), Carolyn Cordes (Tim), Brenda Toehay (Marion), Vickie Leyja, Beatrice Nevarez, Rachel Reemts (Roy), Paula Hubbard (Chuck), and brothers Bentura Nevarez, Jr. (Elena), Arnold Nevarez, Herman Joel Nevarez-Berg, and Edward Aleman.
The family invites friends and loved ones to gather as they celebrate the beautiful life of Yolanda at Elgin Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28th at 12:00 PM, with Father Paul presiding over the service. Following the celebration, Yolanda will be laid to rest in a Christian Burial at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Austin.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the pallbearers who have graciously accepted the honor of carrying our beloved into her final repose. Among them are Greg Leyja (Honorary), alongside James DeLeon, Carlos Gomez, Steve Martinez, Martin Molina, Mark Nevarez, Jon Reemts, Thomas Soto, and Bobby Vasquez.
Yolanda Nevarez Molina will forever hold a place in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her presence. Her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
