Wilma Faye Jonson, affectionately known as Willie Bee, passed away on September 20, 2025, in Austin, Texas, following an extended illness. She was born on September 25, 1949, in Schwertner, Texas, the fifth child of Claude and Willie Lee Marshall.

Wilma attended Booker T. Washington School in Bartlett, Texas. She later married Lamon Johnson, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Victoria and Cynthia.

A dedicated caregiver, Wilma worked for many years in hospitals and nursing facilities. Outside of work, she enjoyed bingo, dominoes, dancing, singing, and trips to the casino. Her love for music was also expressed through her faith. As a longtime member of the Baptist Church of Rockport, Texas, she joyfully sang in the choir and often traveled with them to neighboring congregations. In recent years, Wilma deepened her love of Bible truth by studying and attending meetings at the Springdale Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Austin, alongside her sister, Annie Ezika.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Willie Lee Marshall; her siblings Ernest Summers, Bernice Brown-Brella, Betty Crisp, Claudia Clark, Lucille Haynes, Beatrice Marshall, and Henry Marshall; her nephews Wayne Marshall, Charles Deary, Curtis White, and Jeremy White; and her niece, Mary White.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Victoria Marshall and Cynthia Lester; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters Annie Ezika, Mary Manges, Dera Hoube, and Patricia Poole; her brothers John Marshall and Elroy Marshall; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many spiritual brothers and sisters.

Wilma will be remembered for her joyful spirit, love of family, and devotion to her faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
