Whizzer Bell Fields

April 7, 1964 — April 9, 2024

Austin, Texas

To my family, one day you'll look for me, and I'll be gone. I'm going to a place where I'll have nothing to do but walk around heaven all day. When I get to heaven, I'm going to sing and shout, and nobody will be able to put me out. My mother and father will be waiting…

On the early evening of April 9, 2024, an angel came and summoned the bright spirit of our dear Mama, Whizzer Bell Fields. Her lips were sealed, and she quietly entered a place of Eternal rest, with her family at her bedside.

Whizzer, sweetly called “Bell,” was born on April 7, 1964, to Rufus White and Ella D. Fields in the small community of Granger, Texas. She was the fifth child of seven. She attended the public school of Williamson County, named Granger High School.  She was a member of Praises and Deliverance Church. Bell was employed at Taylor Care Rest home for five years as a nurse’s assistant under her mother, Ms. Ella Fields. Bell was never married.

Bell was blessed with sixty years when she heard the choir from Heaven singing, ‘I’ll walk around Heaven all day…’.   She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus White and Ella D. Fields; three brothers, Archie, Willie, and David Fields; one sister, Rose White; and a special nephew, Frank B. Fields.

Bell’s priceless legacy will forever be cherished in the lives of her son, Morris E. Fields ( TeShenna) of Austin, Texas; her two daughters, Alexis A. Fields of Austin, Texas and Crystal D. Fields of Taylor, Texas; her eleven grandchildren, Tyrique, Tatyana, Lyrical, Philip, Tyler, Jerome, Sha'Rome, Wi'Neshia, Chrishon, Na'Kirah, Ra'Shawn; her four great-grandchildren,  Kay'Loni, JaiMeer, Elijah, Xavier; her three sisters; Ella L. Fields of Austin, Texas.  Ruby L. McClure (Clarence) of Fort Riley, Kansas City, and  Ruthie L. Rivera ( Paul ) of Round Rock, Texas; her special Sister: Shelia Bill of Henderson, Texas;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and Friends will gather for a Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, April 26th, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM with Pastor Willie Holloway presiding.  The inurnment will be private.
