Ricky Leauvette Jefferson was born on September 30, 1965 in Bastrop County, Texas to the late Clara Vincent and John L. Jefferson. Ricky attended Elgin Public Schools

Ricky met Mattie Deary and four children were born from this relationship: Jimmy Wayne, Tremaine, Christian, and Brittany. Ricky later met and Married Shirley Lewis on Dec 4, 1996, and with her 3 daughters that he accepted as his own merged a blended family. Along with this blend Ricky and Shirley helped raised her 3 nephews: Kerry & Kanyon Simien, and Hezekiah “Turtle” Smith.

Ricky accepted Christ at a young age at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Elgin, Tx. Ricky later moved his membership to Weeping Willow Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J. A Fowler. Ricky was very active in the church while in attendance, he was President of the Brotherhood, Vice-President of the Male Chorus where he led “Catch of fire, and Gospel Train”, Part of the Maintenance Team, as well as the Kitchen Crew.

Ricky was a ranch hand since the age of 14 for Paul & Cheryl Watts, and other farms in the local area. Ricky

worked for Meyers Sausage Co. he also worked for numerous stores around the Elgin area.

Ricky enjoyed Carpenter & Landscaping Work, Car & Small engine repairs, BBQING, Fishing, riding around, and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed especially to his ELLA LN Family.

Ricky was preceded in Death by his parents: John L. & Clara Jefferson, Special Grandparents: Dock & Frankie Vincent.

Ricky leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Shirley Lewis-Jefferson of Elgin, Tx. Children: Jimmy Wayne Deary (Rebecca), Tremaine Deary (Melinda), and Brittany Jefferson of Taylor, Tx. Christian Murphy (James) of Richland, Tx, Yanina Larkins (Russell II), Shalanthia Lewis (Max), and Joana Caldwell (Byron) of Elgin, Tx. Brother: Victor Jefferson of Austin, Tx. Sisters: Janet Deary of Elgin, Tx, and Tammy Parks of Taylor, Tx. 18 Grandchildren, Special Uncle: Larry Vincent, 2 Aunts, 2 Great Aunts, Special Friend & Brother N Law: Norman Owens, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his church family.
