My Declaration…

He liveth long who liveth well

All other life is short and vain

He liveth longest who can tell

Of living most for heavenly gain

Work while it is day for when

Night cometh no man can work,,,

On October 25, 1950, in Bastrop, Texas, our Lord in Heaven blessed the world with the birth of Pastor Aubrey Allen Jackson, a life time resident of Bastrop County and on November 27, 2019, the community began to mourn the passing of a strong and upright citizen, one that was a blooming icon for his family, his community, his church, the city, the county, and the state of Texas.

Pastor Jackson was born to the late Roy D. Jackson and Etta Mae Jackson. He attended the public schools of Bastrop County and graduated from Emile High School in Bastrop, Texas in 1969. Pastor Jackson accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was united with Union Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J. D. Cleveland.

Pastor Jackson was united in Holy Matrimony to his forever love, Carolyn Ann Collins, on January 8, 1972, and to this union three girls were born who were the light of his life.

Pastor Jackson was employed with Nash Phillips Corpus for a season.  In 1996, Pastor Jackson became a small business owner serving the people through Jackson Appliance Service.  He enjoyed fishing,  watching the western channel and spending time in his shop working with his tools.

Pastor Jackson was a faithful member of Union Hill Baptist Church, he and his family were willing workers.  Pastor Jackson worked with many auxiliaries throughout his tenure including Chairman of the Deacon Board, President of Brotherhood, Sunday School teacher, and sung in the Male Choir.

On May 5, 2008, Pastor Jackson accepted the call by the Lord to preach the Gospel.  After fasting and praying, his first sermon was delivered on June 21, 2008, following his ordination on February 4, 2009.  Continuing to walk by faith, Pastor Jackson accepted the election by the church and became the pastor of his home church, and was installed on July 3, 2010. Pastor Jackson served the people, loving his family and his church until his death.

Pastor Jackson received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Mount Olive Bible Institute on May 12, 2012.

Pastor Jackson is preceded in death by his parents, Roy D and Etta Mae Jackson.

Pastor Jackson leaves in God’s hands to share his legacy: his wife of forty – seven years, Carolyn Ann Jackson, his three daughters, Cynthia Jackson, Adrianna Jackson and Stefanie and her husband, Gary Jefferson, Sr., his eight grandchildren – Courtney, Jasmine, Jayda and Torry, Marissa, Kianna, Clifton, Jr., Gary, Jr., and Garren;  three great- grandchildren, Jeremiah, Richard, and Ryleigh ; his siblings, Joyce and her husband, Truman Thomas, Deacon Larry Jackson, Sr., and Sharon and her husband, Reverend MC Walker; his family – in – law, and a host of nieces and nephews covering four generations. His priceless legacy will be held close in the heart of the Union Hill Church family.
