Reino Vargas Salazar

Reino Vargas Salazar, 80, of Bastrop, formerly of Zacapa, Guatemala, passed away, Tuesday, March 8, 2022.  Reino was born to Manuela Salazar and Miguel Vargas, on September 3, 1941, in Zacapa, Guatemala.  He was a Professor of Theology and Pastored a church for many years, where he served faithfully until he retired.  He was a beloved husband and an exceptional father to his nine children, whom he adored.  He later was blessed with 15 grandchildren and cherised their love until his last day.  Aside from being an amazing husband, dad, and grandpa, he loved God and sharing His Holy Word with the world.

He is survived by his wife, Elida Perez Vargas; his nine children, Onier, Alexi, Dorelia and husband Willy, Ingrid and husband Pablo, Welder and wife Lesly, Heber, Orfa and husband Juan, Eliu, and Cleisy Berenice and husband Alex; his 15 grandchildren, Oswaldo, Tania, Ryan, Obed, Stacy, Shelcy, Gabriel, Omar, Abner, Relder, Ellie, Angel, Emily, Hebrey, and Joshua; and numerous extend family and dear friends.  He will be greatly missed by many and will never be forgotten; especially his wisdom and love that he shared with everyone.

Reino Vargas Salazar, de 80 años, de Bastrop, anteriormente de Zacapa, Guatemala, falleció el martes 8 de marzo de 2022.  Reino nació de Manuela Salazar y Miguel Vargas, el 3 de septiembre de 1941, en Zacapa, Guatemala.  Fue profesor de teología y pastoreó una iglesia durante muchos años, donde sirvió fielmente hasta que se jubiló.  Era un esposo amado y un padre excepcional para sus nueve hijos, a quienes adoraba.  Más tarde fue bendecido con 15 nietos y quejó su amor hasta su último día.  Además de ser un esposo, padre y abuelo increíbles, amaba a Dios y compartía Su Santa Palabra con el mundo.

Le sobreviven su esposa, Elida Pérez Vargas; sus nueve hijos, Onier, Alexi, Dorelia y su esposo Willy, Ingrid y su esposo Pablo, Welder y su esposa Lesly, Heber, Orfa y su esposo Juan, Eliu y Cleisy Berenice y su esposo Alex; sus 15 nietos, Oswaldo, Tania, Ryan, Obed, Stacy, Shelcy, Gabriel, Omar, Abner, Relder, Ellie, Angel, Emily, Hebrey y Joshua; y numerosos familiares extensos y queridos amigos.  Muchos lo extrañarán mucho y nunca será olvidado; especialmente su sabiduría y amor que compartió con todos.

Family and Friends will gather for Visistation at Elgin Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 9th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  A Celebration of Minister Reino Vargas Salazar's Life will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Thursday, March 10th at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
