Nitza Hope DeBiase, 28, of Austin, a devoted educator and passionate advocate for youth and the underprivileged, was born in Grand Junction, Colorado. From a young age, Nitza displayed a deep love for music and theater, as well as a remarkable talent for construction — a unique blend of creativity and skill that defined much of her life.
Her vocation was education, through which she touched many lives with her compassion, dedication, and belief in the potential of every student. Nitza’s commitment extended beyond the classroom, as she devoted much of her time and energy to causes that supported the welfare of young people and those in need. She was actively involved in civic efforts, including the Black Lives Matter movement and various programs aimed at assisting the less privileged.
Nitza was preceded in death by her beloved maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her father, William DeBiase; mothers, Manuelita Littler and Andrea DeBiase; and her siblings, Brandi McHaffie Culbertson, Dustin G. DeBiase, William R. DeBiase III, Shariah Warfield, and Fredrick Warfield.
Nitza will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, unwavering advocacy, and the lasting impact she made on her community and loved ones.
Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Monday, October 20th from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Home-Going Celebration will follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend D.W. Townsend presiding. Interment will be held at Littig Cemetery.
