Michael David Howard, 33, of Elgin, formerly of Ft. Worth, passed away Friday morning, January 10, 2020. Michael was the first of two boys born to Richard Jay Howard and Elke Siegrid Hornig-Howard, in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, on December 28, 1986. Michael grew up speaking German attended schools in Germany; learning English mainly from his father and then as a second language beginning in the 5th grade.
At 19, he moved to Texas with his father and took a night-job stocking groceries at Walmart. Michael was always very interested in technology; once he settled in the U.S., he began working for Azle I.S.D. as a tech-support. In his late 20’s, he moved to Austin and began working for Google’s sister company, NEST. He later moved on to Union P.O.S., formerly, Tabbed Out.
Michael was a very outgoing and friendly person. He had such a lively personality; he loved to act and was in a few films, he also took up modeling for a stint; and he loved to sing karaoke with his friends, and would often post his “personal concerts” for everyone’s enjoyment. Michael was also an unselfish and compassionate guy, who would often go out of his way to help others.
Michael had an affinity for fast cars and loved to work on cars with his dad or help others with any repairs they had. He couldn’t wait to get to the States, where he could get his first sports car; so, after moving to Texas, Michael jumped on the opportunity to fix up a 2004 Corvette. He and Rick spent many happy hours bonding and working on the car together.
Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Hobert Howard; his maternal grandfather, Ernst Hornig; and his aunt, Debbie Gottschalk Howard.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory both his parents, Rick Howard and Elke Hornig-Howard; his brother, Chris “Howie” Howard; his paternal grandmother, Lanelle Howard; his maternal grandmother, Maria Hornig; his aunts, Deborah Howard and Linda Wise; his uncles, Garry Howard and Felix Hornig; numerous cousins; and dear friends. His huge heart and personality will we deeply missed and remembered by all that knew him.
