Mary Linda “Lynn” Puckett

March 18, 1939 – September 26, 2025

Mary Linda “Lynn” Puckett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Elgin, Texas, at the age of 86.

Born on March 18, 1939, in Buffalo, New York, Lynn was the cherished daughter of Louis and Evelyn Marsh. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Marsh; sister, Ann Stadlemier; first husband, Peter P. McKenzie Sr; and her stepson, Mark Puckett.

Known to friends and family as Lynn, she lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and quiet strength. While raising her five children —Ken, Pete, Mary, Phil, and Matt —she generously gave her time to serve others. She volunteered as a nurse's assistant (Candy Striper), taught children with disabilities to bowl, and coached a team of teenage bowlers who competed throughout Kansas.

In 1981, Lynn fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning her nursing degree from Eastern New Mexico University’s Roswell campus. Her deep care for others extended beyond her profession—she was also a devoted animal lover, whether it was raising basset hounds, tending to her birds Bert and Ernie, or spoiling her beloved dog Izzy.

Lynn was an excellent cook who made family dinners a treasured tradition. She took great joy in gathering her loved ones around the table, where laughter, stories, and second helpings were always served. Her kitchen was the heart of her home. She loved to crochet and knit, often giving her best work to family members as gifts.

She was known for her infectious laugh—bright, unmistakable, and full of warmth. It could light up a room, lift spirits, and often spark a chain reaction of smiles and laughter among those around her. Lynn loved the outdoors, whether tending her roses or fishing along the Gulf Coast with her husband, Max, and family. She was a devoted animal lover.

Later in life, Lynn found love again and is survived by her devoted husband, Max Puckett. She is also survived by her sister Kathy Marsh; her five children—Ken, Pete, Mary, Phil, and Matt; her stepchildren Eric, Jay, Gary, and Adam; and the many grandchildren she loved unconditionally.

Lynn will be remembered for her generous heart, her sense of humor, and the many lives she touched through her kindness, joy, and unwavering support.

A private celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate her life and legacy.
