Maria Mendez, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Pflugerville Care Center, Saturday morning, February 26, 2011. She was born one of eight children to Pablo Garcia Rosas and Enriqueta Sanchez Rosas, in Bastrop County on January 24, 1919. Maria was a lifetime resident of Elgin, TX, where she and her husband of 73 years, Ignacio, raised eleven children.
