Maria Santos Castillo

God, in his infinite wisdom, has called from labor to rest Ms. Maria Santos Castillo, 84, from Elgin, Texas, on August 16, 2025.

Maria was born on December 28, 1940, in Villa Juárez, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Filimon and Dominga Reyes. She shared marital memories with her husband, Lorenzo Castillo.

For the past 51 years, Maria has been a member of the Elgin community, where she shared her passion of crocheting and gardening. The flower that held her attention and heart was the roses of every hue in the rainbow.

The cloud of witnesses awaiting her arrival includes her parents, Filmon and Dominga Reyes, two well-loved young children, Lupita and Eudelia, and 5 siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy are her children: Lidia, Maria, Anselma, Hortencia, Maricela, Lorenzo, and Laura; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends covering five generations.
