Lorenzo Perez Ubias, a longtime resident of Bastrop County and a beloved soul of 86 years, passed away in the divine presence of Jesus and the Saints in Heaven on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Mr. Ubias will lie in state on Thursday, September 5th, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Elgin Funeral Home, with a time for remembrance and gathering from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. To honor his spiritual journey, the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM with Deacon Gumisindo Gonzales. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 6th, at 3:00 PM, with Father Paul Hudson presiding, Christian Burial will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
