Leonard Charles White was born on January 10, 1939 to Charles and Lola White in Palisade, Minnesota. Leonard went to be home with the Lord and his wife, Cleo on April 29, 2020.
Leonard moved to Texas in the 80’s. He met the love his life Cleo white and they were married on May 12, 1990. Leonard worked at the Austin Nature Center for several years which he loved and excelled at. He retired from the Nature center to help Cleo with the business she started. For many years he supported Cleo’s Group home business by handling all house maintenance. When Leonard married Cleo he also became a father to Scott, Terry, Mark and Kim. He spent many years building strong relationship with them and his grandkids. He was the Best Dad and Pops. Leonard had a strong love for western movies and country music. He loved to fish and loved being in his workshop wood working. He was a man of many crafts. In his later years you would most of the time find him in front of his computer watching his movies or playing the card game solitaire.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Cleo; his parents; and his two sisters, Gladys and Myrle.
He is survived by his four children, Scott Grooms and wife Cindy, Mark Grooms and wife Tina, Terry and husband Timothy Carpenter, and Kimberly Hampton; his 12 Grandchildren, Cassie, Chance, Stephen, Jordan, Brooke, Keifer, Jade, Benji, Sarah, Marshall, Ashley, and Rebekah; his 10 great-grandchildren, Carmen, Cayli, Caden, Chloe, Cambree, Charlotte, Brendan, Tristyn, and James; his nine sisters and brothers, LeRoy, Earl, Arlis, Ed, David, Emma, Charlotte, Ethel, and Lorena; and numerous friends and family. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Leonard’s casket will lie in state at the family residence, on Friday, May 1st from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A private Celebration of Life will follow at the McDade Cemetery.
