Keith Deshawn Ray

Keith Deshawn Ray, 33, of Elgin, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. Keith Deshawn Ray was born August 9, 1991, in Elgin, Texas. Keith attended the Elgin Independent School District. Keith accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 9 under the leadership of The Late Pastor Q.S. Goins at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Elgin.

 Keith loved fishing, catching snakes, fixing many things, mechanical work, and helping with fixing the house. Keith is preceded in death by his biological father, Lorance “Chili Red” Jones Sr., his Maternal and Paternal grandparents. 

Keith leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother, Brenda Joiner Benford, his dad, Willie Allen Ray Sr., and three boys. Seven brothers: Douglas Joiner (Ashley), Jeffery Joiner Sr., Willie Ray Jr., Jonathan Ray (LaShaelyn), Trayvon Ray Sr., Lorance Jones Jr., and Ronnie Rivers (Sheronda). Eight sisters: Pamela Joiner (Chris), Tiffany Joiner, Monica Wilson (Lindsay Jr.), Raven Ray, Claudie Ray (AJ), Melinda Jones Ferrance, Beverly Turner (Rev. Johnnie Turner), Karen Jones (Vincent). A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Family and Friends will gather for the Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, October 31st, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be conducted at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, November 1st, at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be private.
