In Loving Memory of Joyce Brandyburg Lewis

On a bright and beautiful Good Friday morning, our cherished family member, Joyce Brandyburg Lewis, was called home to her Heavenly Father. Born on January 7, 1946, on Dude Hill in Coupland, TX, to Joe and Venora Brandyburg, Joyce lived a life of faith, love, and unwavering devotion to family and friends.

From an early age, Joyce embraced her faith, being baptized at Pear Valley Baptist Church Coupland, TX. She received her education through Taylor ISD and later spent years working in manufacturing before dedicating herself to taking care of others as a compassionate caregiver.

Joyce had a gentle and loving spirit. She found joy in life’s simple things, keeping her home immaculate, preparing delicious meals, and making sure no one ever left her house hungry. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals, and there was always something warm and welcoming on the stove for anyone who walked through her door.

Beyond her nurturing ways, Joyce had a playful and competitive spirit. She was an avid gamer, whether playing Bingo, Pity Pat, or dominoes it was the excitement of the games. At family gatherings, she could always be found at the domino or card table with her mother, Venora, and sister, Ailleen—her partners.

Joyce also had a passion for entertainment and sports. Friday nights were dedicated to WWE, where she eagerly watched her favorite wrestler, Cody Rhodes, and kept up with the latest rivalries. Sundays after church, she rushed home to cheer on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles, proudly wearing her Eagles attire—especially in celebration of their 2025 Super Bowl victory.

Above all, Joyce cherished her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the very heartbeat of her life. She loved fishing with her siblings, sharing stories, and playing games together. As one of the coordinators of the Brandyburg Christmas Eve Dinner and Gathering, she ensured the tradition of bringing the family together remained strong. She always reminded her children and family, “Remember what I taught you, stay together and love each other.”

Joyce left a lasting legacy for her children to follow and an imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Now, it is time for the family to carry the torch forward, honoring her memory with love and unity.
