Jasmine Ja’Gayle Barber entered eternal rest on March 24, 2025, peacefully in her home in Austin, Texas. Jasmine was born on November 26, 1993, in Georgetown, Texas. She was a devoted daughter, sister, niece, and above all, a loving mother to her six precious boys. Jasmine also deeply loved and viewed her Aunt Lucy Kerley as a second mother.
Jasmine was the cherished daughter of Eddie Ray Baker Sr. and Bobbie Baker of Bryan, Texas. She was a devoted sister to Kiara Baker (Demarrius Lyons) of Bryan, Texas, Eddie Ray Baker Jr. (Cardrea Baker) of Round Rock, Texas, and her beloved cousin Staci Barber, whom Jasmine viewed as a sister.
Her greatest joy in life was being the proud mother of her six sons: Johnathan Sanders, Ja’Vante Sanders, Jamear Sanders, Josiah Sanders, Jeremiah Sanders, and Jayceon Sanders. She dedicated her heart and soul to raising them with love, strength, and unwavering devotion, instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and faith.
Jasmine’s presence brought warmth and joy to those around her. She had a heart that knew no bounds, always putting others before herself and offering a helping hand whenever needed. She carried an infectious smile and a spirit of resilience that inspired everyone she met.
Jasmine was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Taylor, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Tony M. Sorrells Sr. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in love, service, and strength.
Jasmine is preceded in death by her grandfather, Bobby Ray Jones, and her beloved cousins, Alyssa Leah Baker, Ava & Eva Recendis, Rafeal Jr., and Aaliyah Dejesus.
She is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her grandparents, Rickie and Virginia Kerley of Miami, Florida, and Donald and Mary Baker of Taylor; her nieces Kristinia Baker, Ja’Niyah Baker-Lyons; and a host of aunts, uncles, family, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Jasmine’s love and legacy will live on through her children and all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
“Her children arise and call her blessed." – Proverbs 31:28
