Hermizell Crittendon

Harmizell LaRose Young was born the sixth of seven children born to J.T. and Maude Young on December 10, 1936, in Caldwell, Texas. At the age of five years old, she moved to Elgin, Texas and attended Washington School. She accepted Christ very early in life and was a member of Winn’s Memorial Baptist Church until her death. She was known to many as Mombe, Aunt Homie, or just Homie. She will be remembered as being truly ONE OF A KIND, full of laughter and wisdom, quick witted, and having a heart of gold. She LOVED and BELIEVED in her FAMILY. It was always her desire for our family to continue to embrace, love one another, and stay together always.

She was preceded in death by her parents (J.T. and Maude Young), siblings (James Young, Dorris Wilson, Venora Jenkins, W. Lee O’Daniel Young, Viny McKee, and Marie Young), great-grandson (Edwin Wright Jr.), nephews (Harry and Bobby Young), and great nephew (Gregory Williams).

She leaves to cherish her many memories two loving daughters: Rose Reese (Alvin Sr.) and Bobbie I’som (Ronald Sr.); very special nieces and nephews that she raised; Robert Young Sr., Eugene Young, Charlesetta Wilson, Gloria Eason (Norris), Valesa Galbert (Willie), twelve grand-children; a very special grandson - Alvin Reese Jr., Lewis Reese (Rosa), Tess Reese, Gary Reese, Debra Reese, Earnest Reese, Larnest Reese Sr.(Cherlita), Valaise Jackson, Tabitha Jackson, Detrick Jackson, Ronald I’som Jr., and Natasha I’som, one very special sister in law; Doris Young, 30 great grand-children, 8 great-great grand-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
