Elois Vincent

April 20, 1942 — September 16, 2018

Now her work is ended, And she is laid to rest,
I seem to hear her whisper, O’ Lord I’ve done my best!
Well done my faithful servant I know you’ve struggled hard
That’s why I thought to call you, From labor to rest…

Sister Elois Jean Vincent
Earthly Arrival ~ April 20, 1942
Heaven Departure ~ September 16, 2018

On April 20, 1942, Willie and Lucy Cook was blessed with their only little girl, who they named

ELOIS JEAN COOK

Lois was born in Taylor, Texas and grew up in Bastrop County attending the public schools. She graduated in 1960, from Booker T. Washington High School in Elgin. She participated in school activities, only to name basketball.

Lois professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She attended the Church of God in Christ with her Mother.

On February 14, 1970, Lois was united in Holy Matrimony to Raymond Vincent. They combined their families together and became the favorite Uncle and Aunt, raising many children including grandchildren. The couple was famous and known as Diamond and Lady Diamond of Elgin on the citizens band radio, talking short and long distance.

Lois worked at Austin State School in Austin, Texas. She enjoyed the carpool from Elgin to Austin with many ladies that built a lifetime friendship. Lois retired after thirty-five years, not missing the job, just the people.

Lois joined the Vincent family at Mount Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend L. R. White. Sister Vincent served in and out of season working and supporting the church until her death. She loved her little young pastor, Reverend Steven Ward.

This God fearing woman’s heavenly departure was on Sunday, September 16, 2018 and her victory with God began. Waiting in Heaven for Lois are her parents, her grandparents, three brothers, nieces and nephews – her chain is linked. Elois led a rewarding life as she desired, for her legacy is priceless.

Elois leaves in God’s hands to cherish her precious memories her husband of 48 years, Raymond Vincent, one son, Barry Bonner, Sr.; three grandsons, Barry Bonner, Jr. and wife, Christine, Christopher R. Bonner, and Maurice K. Bonner; six great grandchildren, and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Vincent. She is also survived by her three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends including the Mount Moriah Church family.
