After his stent with working security, David began working at Texas Department of Corrections (TDC). David worked for TDC for approximately 10 years. In 2003, he was accepted to the police academy at Texas State University. After the police academy David worked at Austin Independent School District and Austin Community College. David was excited about his new journey as a police officer in Round Rock Independent School District.
