David Bruce, 68, of Bastrop, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. David was born in Nevada, Missouri to Albert Roy Bruce and Rosemary Lynn. On November 19, 1982 he married the love of his life, Linnie Gorman, and their love became inseparable.
David was a jack of all trades. After serving two years in the U.S. Army, he worked underground telephone lines, construction, and as a cable television lineman, but what David is remembered for the most is the many miles he drove in his big rig.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Roy Bruce and Rosemary Colbert; sisters, Wanda Wheeler and Norma Jean Bruce; and brothers, Roy Dale Bruce and Ray Albert Bruce.
He is loved and remembered by his wife of 43 years, Linnie Bruce; son, Bobby Meredith; siblings, Kenneth Bruce, Linda Gannaway (Don), John Henry Nelson (Michelle), Judy Ann Delk (Rick), Jerry Lee Colbert, and Gary Lee Colbert (Elizabeth); brother-in-law, Allie Lee Gorman, Jr.; aunt, Dorothy Gorman; cousins, Mary Sue Ervin, Alice Verschueren, and Kathy Trench; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Every time you travel the road and pass by an 18-wheeler, take a moment and remember David. May he be forever loved.
