Carla Leblanc

I am young but strong enough to withstand anything that comes my way,

To those who knew and loved Carla Jean LeBlanc, she was just our beloved Sweet Carla Jean, the second child to Matthew LeBlanc and Caroline Greer.  She was born on September 16, 1983, in Copeland, Texas. Carla attended Copeland Elementary School and the public schools of Austin Independent School District. She received her GED at the age of nineteen.  Having a strong Christian foundation, Carla accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend Davis at the Lakeview Baptist Church in Elgin, Texas.

Sweet Carla Jean will live on in her beautiful girls, Janay’a and Eddjia.

Carla enjoyed working and being with her family. She was very proud when she received her license as a Physical Therapist, which grew her ability to help others.

Carla was a caring and compassionate person, as all Mental Health people often misunderstood…Sweet Carla felled into that web.

Carla enjoyed being with her girls as they would cook and do each other hair.  Her favorite pass time was sitting on the porch with a cigarette and sipping on a cold Dr. Pepper or a good hot cup of coffee.

On August 12, 2022, Carla was called to rest from labor.  Carla will be greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, two uncles, Andrew Melton, and Aaron Melton, and one cousin, Chris Anderson.

Sweet Carla Jean was blessed with thirty-eight years, ten months and twenty-seven days, and those left to cherish her memory are her girls, Janay’a Ward and Eddjia Ward and their father, Eddie Ward, her mother, Caroline Greer, her father, Matthew LeBlanc, Sr., her siblings, Matthew LaBlanc, Jr., Joshua LeBlanc, and Keshia Curtis; four aunts, and four uncles, one nephew and five nieces, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.

Carla Jean LeBlanc, 38, of Coupland, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022.  She will lie in state at Elgin Funeral Home, Friday, August 19th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  A Home-Going Celebration will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Saturday, August 20th at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
