Alvin Eschberger

Alvin Arthur Eschberger, 91, died January 20, 2011, in Elgin, Texas. The tenth of eleven children, Alvin was born to Anna Stiewart and Gottlieb Eschberger on January 4, 1920 in German immigrant community of Paint Creek in northeast Bastrop County. He loved to tell stories of hunting and trapping with his brothers, Walter and Reinhold, of going to house dances on Saturday nights, and attending the one room school at Paint Creek. He was baptized at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Paint Creek and was confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church in McDade.
