Abner Cleveland Scott, 87, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 3, 2011. Abner was born, the first of nine children, to Grover Cleveland and Ina Fay Scott on November 3, 1923 in McDade, Texas. After graduating from Elgin High School, he began working as a carpenter. Then during World War II, Abner joined the United States Navy Reserves. After the war, he restarted his carpenter career as a commercial carpenter, actively participating in the Carpenters Local 1266 in Austin for 50 years. In July of 1945, Abner married the love of his life, Juanita Snowden of Elgin, Texas. On July 2010, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
