The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically as for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
This fee is for our basic services and overhead is always added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is reduced at a proportionate rate and incorporated into all Cremation Services, Direct/Green Burials, and Forwarding or Receiving Remains. However, any arrangements other than the aforementioned are assessed the full professional service charge. Our fee for the Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff includes, but is not limited to, staff’s response to initial request for services; arrangement conference with family or responsible party; arrangement of funeral or other methods of disposition; preparing, filing and obtaining necessary authorizations and permits; recording, filing and obtaining the Death Certificate and Certified Copies with the appropriate vital statistics offices; preparation and placement of obituary notices; coordination with all party’s with an active role in portions of the arranged services (e.g. cemetery, crematory, and others). Also included in this charge, are overhead expenses relative to our operation (e.g. insurance, building maintenance and utility expenses, clerical and administrative costs as well as maintenance of equipment and inventory).
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as any services with an open casket viewing or transportation of the deceased outside the State of Texas by Common Carriers. If you do not desire embalming for your loved one, then you have the right to choose several arrangements that do not require you to pay for it, such as Direct Cremation, Direct/Green Burial. Embalming is a topical and arterial process with the use of humectants, emollients, and preservative chemicals. Embalming provides sanitation, temporary preservation and more significantly, the restoration of color and life-like features back to the deceased for a more natural perception during viewing.
